World UFO Day

World UFO Day is held every year on July 2nd. UFO enthusiasts, researchers, and curious observers around the globe come together to bring awareness to UFO’s (unidentified flying objects). The day is meant to encourage people to look to the skies, and promote discussion about the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

The date of July 2nd was selected due to its association with the famous 1947 Roswell, NM incident, where a mysterious object crashed on a local ranch. While the U.S. military stated that the debris came from a weather balloon, the event became one of the most debated and influential cases in UFO history.

World UFO Day serves several purposes. For some, it is an opportunity to explore historical UFO sightings and government investigations. For others, it is a chance to consider the broader question of whether humanity is alone in the universe. Social media and the internet has renewed public interest in UFOs. Recently government organizations have released information regarding unexplained aerial sightings. Whether viewed as a celebration of curiosity, a study of unexplained phenomena, or a discussion about life beyond Earth, World UFO Day reminds us of all the mysteries the galaxy holds. There’s so much for us all to explore.

Stay curious friends.
